While we were at SM Megamall, in Mandaluyong/Ortigas this afternoon, I noticed how most of the call center agents are POORLY DRESSED. I don't understand why they have those kind of clothes given that they earn a lot plus night differential for most plus attendance bonus to those who are always on time for work. Compared to professionals (like me and my friends w/ PRC licenses) who work for firms and private corporations, we earn a little less than what they have but we still manage to dress up, DECENTLY.
So here's the question... why do they have to earn that much when MOST OF THEM what they do at work is sit for 8 hours, deal with crazy irate customers, annoy potential customers (for telemarketing), access social networks while at the site, flirt with their teammates (take note: even if they're already married), have crazy sex while at work, put their customers' calls on hold for a very long time while they smoke outside/eat blah blah blah.
I think this is why most graduates prefer to work in call centers rather than have a better future working with professionals in private firms and corporations. They want the easy life, slack at work and earn THAT MUCH.
Well, all I'm saying is that, shouldn't we, the graduates & professionals who work in private firms, private & multinational corporations get better compensation than those who work in call centers?
*I have nothing against call center agents, I used to be a Technical Support Representative for Dell Printers*

Enough of this WORK SHIT
"Enough of this bullshit" says my brain. I'm actually about to quit this [fucking] job.
Do I really have to take in all the blame for not being able to give you staff for your engagements?
I do understand that I, the staff scheduler, should be able to fix your staffing problems. But I do believe that you should also have a part in this. I can't blame you guys if there are times that you hoard staff for your engagements but you have to be reasonable. If the client is delayed in giving the documents, why not lend your staff to some small engagements who need staff? I know it's hard but some are already doing this staff sharing thing. Sometimes, you have to compromise.
Sometimes, people think that my job is easy, go ahead, try to be me for a week. Let's see if you can handle it.
**You have to understand that perfection doesn't happen overnight. You have to give it time. I'm not as perfect as the other Audit department's scheduler. I still have a lot to learn.**

Words are not enough to describe how hard it is to be a scheduler. Maybe for me lang, I dunno, I'm not really sure.
All I can say: Ang pagiging scheduler ay parang pagiging isang nanay.
Wish ko lang this busy season and after busy season, marealize na nung mga dapat makarealize na we're better off without YOU. HAHAHAHA.
Sa mga pinakamamahal kong associates & supervisors: Don't worry, kaya ko pa. Kung nagsasabi man akong magreresign ako o nakikipagpustahan ako na mauuna ako sa inyo, joke lang yun. So that means 50% sure pa lang naman akong may balak magresign. :P

My 2010 Year End Review
My 2010 was kinda boring but I still had a lot of fun.
I worked as a tech support representative for Dell. I was always in the night shift so I was really earning alot compared to the corporate people but I realized that it was not an easy job. You'd have to deal with everyone especially with the customers. I've had alot of irate and funny callers and I can say I've learned alot from them. This is one of my most unforgettable customers imagine speaking with a 70 y/o lady who has to tinker on her wireless printer. How the hell are you going to explain to her what is the WEP/ WPA key and all other non-Dell related stuff. She gets irate, speaks with our L2 then asks for my supervisor. Good thing that call wasn't monitored by QA.

Anton(TL) & Ron(L2)
I love my team, it's just so sad that our supervisor had to leave us because of issues with HR and with the higher ups.

Team Antonio aka Wave 10
He was the nicest and the most kick ass supervisor in our account.

Because of that we had to be dispersed to other teams. I was lucky enough to be handled by another nice supervisor. I didn't have any issues with my new teammates cause they were all accommodating and really friendly.
I was really having fun working there but well, changes and some health reasons made me decide to resign. I also had to decide if I had to go back to the corporate world because I was turning 25, and well we all know that corporate companies have the age limit for applicants. I searched jobstreet.ph and jobs.db and submitted my most updated cv.
At the time I was having health issues and some work ethics issues with the higher ups and other agents (which was not an issue at all, I just didn't like working with them HA HA HA) I was lucky enough to receive an invitation for an exam and interview from one of the BIG 4 Audit firms in the Philippines. They wanted me to work as soon as possible, so I passed my resignation letter to my supervisor. I know my supervisor and my favorite L2 were saddened by the news. They even told me I was their favorite agent and I was one of the nicest. I was also sad because my team was like my family when I was working there. But I had to move on and make a big leap for my future.
I didn't have a hard time adjusting to my new 'home'.
The people are nice and also accommodating.

Working for another audit firm before also helped me adjust and adapt to the work environment.
This year was also about meeting new & awesome friends who made me appreciate life. There's this guy who also made me 'kilig' since August up to now, well sometimes. I can't mention his name or disclose his identity here because he and his dad are both popular. He just makes me feel important most of the time even if I know he has tons of girls swarming around him everywhere and anytime.
This year was also one of the best on my list because I was able to spend some quality time out of town with my HS kada,

and I was able to attend our famous annual BASAGAN last December 26, 2010.

I also had lots of quality time with my UST Family (UAAP Games, UST Tambay, Korean Lunch date, my 25th...)

Another reason I'm happy this 2010 is because the Azkals made my first love, Football, really famous in the Philippines.
I wish this 2011, I'd get to spend more time with my family and friends, and maybe with my special someone. :P
HAPPY NEW YEAR! Wishing you guys a prosperous and love - filled 2011!
Much love,

IckayDoratheExplorer :)
