'Twilight' Sequels Optioned; Studio Acquires 'New Moon', 'Eclipse' & 'Breaking Dawn'

“Twilight” hasn’t hit theaters yet, but that doesn’t mean Summit Entertainment isn’t thinking well beyond the big-screen debut of Stephenie Meyer’s beloved vampire-romance novels.
The Hollywood Reporter announced today that Summit has acquired the rights to the next three books in Meyer’s series, “New Moon,” “Eclipse” and “Breaking Dawn.”
Screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg, who adapted “Twilight,” will pen the scripts for “New Moon” and “Eclipse,” while a writer has yet to be named for “Breaking Dawn.” This means that Rosenberg will have to do a lot of reading in the near future, as THR reports that the screenwriter refused to read ahead in the series when she was adapting “Twilight.”
With that in mind, one has to wonder what Rosenberg would say about tonight’s premiere of the new MTV movies show “Spoilers” (airing tonight at 7:30 PM EST on MTV) which promises to include some never-before-seen looks at the “Twilight” movie, among other high-profile previews. According to THR, Summit is looking to build itself a film franchise with Meyer’s series — which, in what is certainly not news to many readers here, has a fan following to rival any property out there these days.
(Heck, even President-Elect Obama is a “Twilight” fan.)

Lost Dreams. . .
This morning, after the mass, me and my friends decided to hang out.
We stayed at our usual spot.
We talked about our lives.
The past, the present . . .and our LOST dreams...

Biboy: Ate, what was your dream when you were young?
Me: Ako? I wanted to become a doctor, PERO I'm afraid of blood kaya I didn't pursue it.
Bert: Di ba pangarap mo din maging Geologist?
Me: Oo, naalala mo pa pala un?
Bert: Oo naman, nursery pa lang tayo nun pero yun ang una mong sinabi sa akin na dream mo. Isipin mo yun, 3 years old pa lang tayo, alam mo na yun? LUPET
Me: Gagu. Eh ikaw, diba hindi mo naman gusto maging Nurse.
Biboy: What was your dream kuya?
Mig: Simple lang pangarap niyan. Maging sikat na basketball player at magkaroon ng maraming girlfriend.
Tanni: Ang babaw talaga ng pangarap mo. Ayan, wala ka pa tuloy trabaho.
Mig: Ang yabang mo naman.
Tanni: Bakit? It's true. You, Mig, hindi ka pa nga graduate. Eh kung tutuusin ikaw pinakamayabang sa ating lahat that you're intelligent and that "I graduated from La Salle Greenhills and I'll take up Math as my Major in De La Salle University, Manila."
Me: Ayyyyy. HAHAHAHAHAHA.
Tanni: Teka don't laugh, I'm not yet done with my speech. And yeah, you failed and you were expelled because you joined the fraternity. You transferred to De La Salle - College of Saint Benilde para La Salle School ka pa rin. So you could continue being that obnoxious bully that you are.
Mig: Hoy Tanni below the belt na yan. Ikaw din naman ah, Lasalista ka. You even filed a 1 year LOA sa office because you got pregnant.
Tanni: Well at least I graduated and I have a job now. Eh Ikaw?
Mig: Pero nde mo natupad ang dream mo.
Bert: Tanginang pagibig naman kasi yan.
Mig: Tawa ka greeca?
Me: Wala. Bakit ba? Masama tumawa?
Mig: Diba dapat nasa Canada ka na ngayon? Di mo lang maiwan yang Tigers mo.
Me: Yeah, pero malabo din kasi un future ko sa Canada e.
Bert: Pero nde mo pa rin maiwan un Tigers mo.
Me: Oo. Love ko sila eh.
Bert: May nakukuha ka bang kapalit?
Me: Meron naman, may friends ako na tulad nila.

Bert: Don't ask greeca. So far, sa atin, siya lang ang successful sa ating lahat.

Tanni: Ay wait. Are you gonna study ulit?
Me: I'm thinking pa where. UST or DLSU lang naman ako e.
Mig: DLSU na.
Me: Ewan ko. If I study sa DLSU, I have to work there. NOOOOOOOOOO.

After a conversation with one of my friends, he told me despite taking 2 jobs, he brings back barely above 1K per month, he is happy as he is.
I wondered how he can be as happy as he is considering he has to scrimp through life with the low pay to support a pair of old parents, in-laws, a wife, 2 daughters and the many bills of a household.
He said that right in front of his very eyes he saw an Indian mother chop off her child's right hand with a chopper. The helplessness in the mother's eyes, the scream of pain from the innocent 4-year-old child haunted him until today.
No, it was done for two simple words- - -TO BEG!
Stricken by the happenings, he instructed his guide to drive him to the nearest bakery. He arrived at two bakeries and bought every single loaf of bread he found in the bakeries. The owner was dumbfounded but willingly sold everything.
He spent less than $100 to obtain about 400 loaves of bread (this is less than $0.25 per loaf) and spent another $100 to get daily necessities.
Now I begin to think and feel it, too! Was my life really that bad? Perhaps... no, I should not feel bad at all...

Sabi ni Kotz Frans nung Monday, we are backed in a corners kaya kailangan meron kaming bagong gameplan for game 2. Pikunin daw namin sila, asar-asarin basta kahit anong trashtalk para mawala consentrasion nila ...lalo na yang si Rabeh Al-Sashimi saka si Chris Tiu. Sabi ko nga, "Kotz, how can we trashtalks Chris Tiu? Meron bang mapipintas sa kanya? And I doesn't know how to spokening Chinese." Hindi sumagot si Kotz, nagtinginan lang sila ni Assistant Kotz Jack tapos parehong umiling. I dont understood why.
Bumulong sa akin si Jayvee. Tigilan ko na raw yung mga inane na hirit ko kasi yun daw ang reason kung bakit hindi ako sinasama sa pers five ni Kotz. Paano nangyari yun, eh di ko nga alam ibig sabihin ng "inane". Tinanong ko si Walsham kung ano ang "inane". Sabi niya yun daw ang kunukulong sa mental. Ip dats true, dapat si David Joshua ang inane. Siya ang mukhang abnoy sa amin eh.
Enyway, sabi rin ni Kots na mas sikipan daw namin ang fool court depense namin, and it bored fruits naman kasi nag dalawang early poul si Al-Sashimi. Kaso di namin alam na maganda ang ipapakita ni Baldos saka si Jobe Mangkokolam. Pero we never gives up, basta kung kailangan hampasin yung kamay ni Reyes, Eskweta at Salamat para maagaw ang bola, gawin daw namin. It's beened 24 hours and hindi pa din ako nakaka sleep. I'm reely hurts kasi hindi naman talaga ako nag derty pinger pero tinawagan ako ng second tecnical poul. Na-eject tuloy ako. Hindi naman masama yung ginawa ko ah. Sabi ni sir Tony Atayde, ang meedle pinger na nakataas, ibig sabihin "Animo La Salle, We are number 1". Dinadaan ko na lang sa blog ang sama ng loob ko kasi feeling ko talaga dis year we are the championship again. Ito na siguro ang pinakamahabang nasulat ko sa buong buhay ko. As a mater op pact, kahit mga essay ko sa scool hindi umaabot ng ganito kahaba.
Ayoko na. I'm tired na talaga. I'm tired nang ma-emmbbarrassedd (dinoble ko yung konsonants kasi di ko sigurado spelling) dahil lagi na lang ako pinapakain ni Baculao ng bola. Nakakahiya sa isponsors ko na Adidas saka Nike dahil ang pogi ko sa posters nila pero supalpal naman ako ebery time sa kanya. I hates him! (Pati nga si Buenafe nasupalpal ako. I hates him too!)
I'm siriusly considering na mag-PBA na lang ako. Baka wala na si Baculao pagdating ko doon. Hindi na rin kasi nagkakasya sa pamily ko sa Mindoro yung P200 monthly sponsorship fee sa akin ng Nike saka Adidas (combined na yun.). Nagiging milyonaryo daw ang mga player sa PBA. Asan kaya ang Job Fair nila?
Hanggang dito na lang. Sana makatulog na ako.

Bautista is 'emerging Negrense UAAP talent'

UNIVERSITY of Santo Tomas rookie point guard Clark Bautista of Bacolod City is seen as one of several new young talents in the annual University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) men's basketball competition and his emerging stardom may usher in another era of Negrense dominance in Manila's varsity basketball wars.
This was pointed out by veteran sports writer Eddie Alinea, president of the Sports Communicators Organization of the Philippines (Scoop).
Bautista, son of former West Negros College Mustang point guard Tata Bautista, hit the sports headlines last week when he played heroics for the University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers in their 88-77 demolition of hapless National University Bulldogs at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
"Bautista's impact to UST and the league was evident even before he played his first game for the Tigers as he was being eyed by several top schools after he graduated from high school together with another Bacolod talent, John Michael Noble, who now plays for the University of the East Warriors," Alinea said.
Bautista, who played high school ball with Benedictine International School, tallied 18 points against NU last Thursday as he combined with Francis Allera for a crucial 20-9 spurt in the last seven minutes for the Tigers' victory.
The freshman Commerce student converted nine straight points on treys in the second period against NU as the wards of former pro Pido Jarencio posted a 35-30 edge en route to the win.
Jarencio describes Bautista as "a skillful ball-handler who has a natural feel for the game," and Alinea said "the coming of age of this new breed of talents from Bacolod" reminds him of the era when ex-pros Mike Mustre and Genesis Sasuman led the Letran Knights in the NCAA and Bong Ravena was starring for the UE Warriors in the UAAP.
"With the exit of the likes of Jeff Chan from FEU, it won't be surprising at all if young rookies like Bautista and (John Michael) Noble eventually become the next Negrense stars in the Manila varsity scene," Alinea told Sun.Star Bacolod.
Noble was a former varsity standout of the WNU high school.
Told of Bautista's feat, Negros Basketball Association (NBA) president Oscar 'Dodong' Bascon said: "I'm happy that new generation Negrense players like Clark Bautista are making good in the UAAP and I certainly hope many more will follow his footsteps."

This was pointed out by veteran sports writer Eddie Alinea, president of the Sports Communicators Organization of the Philippines (Scoop).
Bautista, son of former West Negros College Mustang point guard Tata Bautista, hit the sports headlines last week when he played heroics for the University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers in their 88-77 demolition of hapless National University Bulldogs at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
"Bautista's impact to UST and the league was evident even before he played his first game for the Tigers as he was being eyed by several top schools after he graduated from high school together with another Bacolod talent, John Michael Noble, who now plays for the University of the East Warriors," Alinea said.
Bautista, who played high school ball with Benedictine International School, tallied 18 points against NU last Thursday as he combined with Francis Allera for a crucial 20-9 spurt in the last seven minutes for the Tigers' victory.
The freshman Commerce student converted nine straight points on treys in the second period against NU as the wards of former pro Pido Jarencio posted a 35-30 edge en route to the win.
Jarencio describes Bautista as "a skillful ball-handler who has a natural feel for the game," and Alinea said "the coming of age of this new breed of talents from Bacolod" reminds him of the era when ex-pros Mike Mustre and Genesis Sasuman led the Letran Knights in the NCAA and Bong Ravena was starring for the UE Warriors in the UAAP.
"With the exit of the likes of Jeff Chan from FEU, it won't be surprising at all if young rookies like Bautista and (John Michael) Noble eventually become the next Negrense stars in the Manila varsity scene," Alinea told Sun.Star Bacolod.
Noble was a former varsity standout of the WNU high school.
Told of Bautista's feat, Negros Basketball Association (NBA) president Oscar 'Dodong' Bascon said: "I'm happy that new generation Negrense players like Clark Bautista are making good in the UAAP and I certainly hope many more will follow his footsteps."

Q. Is it wrong to flirt with guys :D
A. Flirting means different things for different age groups. When I was in second grade, if I liked a girl, I would throw a rock at her. (Fortunately for women, I have since made some progress in this area.) When we matured to the fourth grade, things got more sophisticated: A girl would ask her friend to pass a note to a boy, inviting him to check the appropriate box if he was interested in her. By sixth grade, the tactics were more refined, and a girl might have her friend "accidentally" shove her into a cute boy as they walked out of class. This is all amusing, but by junior high, the girls leave the notes behind as they start to realize what interests guys. This is when flirting can become a problem.
The basic definition of "flirt" is to tease or toy with another; to pay amorous attention to someone without serious intentions. To the degree that one is being impure or dishonest, flirting is wrong. There is nothing intrinsically wrong with letting another person know that you are attracted to him. The problem comes when you lead him on for the sake of amusement or to boost your self-esteem, usually while causing him to have impure thoughts or desires.
If you're attracted to another, be pure and honest in your dealings with him and the Lord will bless your friendship. There is nothing wrong with being playful with the person and going out of your way to meet him. Just make sure your tactics are done with integrity. If you are an affectionate girl, be careful about how you express this. A guy might perceive your affection as a hint that you want him to do more with you. Scalpers of sought-after UAAP tickets fall to NBI agents - TJ Agcaoili
An administration staff of the University of the Philippines (UP) and five others were arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) for “scalping” tickets during the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Ateneo-La Salle basketball match Saturday and the Cheerdance Competition Sunday.
Both events were staged at the Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City.
Forty-one pieces of UAAP basketball and cheering competition tickets were confiscated from the scalpers.
Head Agent Arnel Dalumpines, NBI-Special Task Force (STF) investigator, identified the respondents as Ferdinand Glodoveza, 43, employee of the UP administration office who resides at JB2-301 Hardin ng Dona Aurora Street, UP Compound, Diliman, Quezon City; and Eduardo Sibuyan, 30, security guard, of 33 Miller Street, barangay Bungad, San Francisco del Monte, Quezon City.
Also arrested were Arnel Mangalindan, 52, of 215 Interior Street, Project 4, Quezon City; Lito Oncines, 22, of Purok 4, Mipangi Nabunturan, Cumbal Province, Compostela Valley; Mark Toreta, 21, of Sto. Niño Street., Bago Bantay, Quezon City; and Elias Pena, 37, of 43-E Banahaw Street, Cubao, Quezon City.
Uniprom Inc., marketing arm of the Araneta Group of Companies, represented by security officer Joselito Hilario filed the complaint against the scalpers.
The scalpers were charged with violation of Quezon City Ordinance 493-S97 otherwise known as the antiscalping law. Bail is recommended at P2,000 each.
Dalumpines said they are looking at the possibility of connivance between several school officials and scalpers in the distribution of tickets.
The STF head agent noted that 80 percent of the tickets were being handled by the Araneta ticketing office while the remaining 20 percent is given to the eight member-schools of the league.
Upper Box A tickets priced at P150 were sold by scalpers for a minimum of P1,000 while Upper Box B tickets originally priced at P75 were sold for at least P750.
“Kapag magaganda kasi ang laban talagang litawan lahat ng scalpers sa area,” Dalumpines said. “Eh ang mga tao naman pumapatol na lang sa kanila.”
On Friday Uniprom operations chief Manuel Atacador wrote NBI Director Nestor Mantaring requesting the bureau to assign a team at the Araneta Coliseum.
Atacador said scalpers are apparent in the area and are not intimidated by their security personnel.
He added that security personnel in the area have already apprehended some of the scalpers, but they still continue with their illegal activities.
“We recently received word that these scalpers are supervised and financed by a small group of policemen assigned here in Quezon City,” Atacador said in the letter.
Acting on the complaint, NBI agents operated an entrapment were they posed as buyers. After a transaction, the operatives then arrested the six respondents. They are currently detained at the NBI jail.
